Dear Friends, Family, Gracious Benefactors & Donors, Faithful Golfers & Volunteers;

All of us on the O’Sullivan Foundation Board and Golf Committee send our best wishes, that you are staying healthy, and that any encumbrances or pain from this crisis soon be lifted.

Consistent with the current environment and for your continued protection, our 2020 Golf Committee made the decision to postpone our annual golf tournament this year until 2021 to allow all of us to rebound from this crisis. Our golf committee had been preparing for this years’ tournament, but we recognize that everyone needs to recover and restore themselves, regardless of how charitable their hearts may be. Those of you who have contributed to our cause, we thank you again. Colon Cancer will not “stay home on pause” – it will continue to destroy families and lives. We recognize that this new landscape, for each of us and our benefactors, presents new challenges. Optimism must prevail that we will “be whole” once more, and our lives will resume with a renewed purpose and vigor.

With this letter and great sadness, we wish to inform you of a huge loss for the O’Sullivan Foundation. Our very dear friend, Peter Hartwick, passed away in March due to this very disease for which we are devoted to destroy! Colorectal Cancer took our energetic, brilliant Pete at the young age of 50, as it did our Tom O’Sullivan in 2007. This vile disease took him too early and unexpectedly, away from his loving wife, Diane and precious daughter, Julianna. Pete was one of the original founders of our Foundation and served as Treasurer for many years. His vision was to grow it to a level comparable to the Susan B. Komen Foundation. He was a true visionary and is missed so dearly by those of us who knew him, appreciated him for all the talents he brought forth, and for his fun-loving spirit in friendship. We were to honor Pete at our tournament but that will be ‘on hold’ until we can.

Upon receipt of this letter, if you feel inclined, we’d love to hear from you and how you are coping through this frightening epidemic. We’d love to hear your stories of how your lives, and that of your loved ones, have changed, and with your permission, maybe post some of them onto our O’Sullivan website. Email us at osullivanfoundation1@gmail.com. We will be posting updates to our website soon: www.TomOsullivanFoundation.org

On behalf of the O’Sullivan Foundation, in harmony with you,
